This solution use case, provided by Tech Mahindra on the MindSphere® platform, provides smart waste management capability for municipalities and waste management organizations.

Rugged sensors provide efficient monitoring of garbage bin and dumpster levels and locations, allowing pickup routes to be run with a high degree of efficiency. Timely pickups help avoid overflow and littering scenarios that occur when bins fill before traditionally scheduled pickups occur. Door to door tracking allows for bins to be tracked against pickup vehicles and end destinations.

Potential integration with device management, weigh bridges, vehicle tracking and a full fledged Command & Control Center help extend this Smart City functionality.
