Asset Manager

Create aspects, variables, types and a new asset in Insights Hub

On the Asset Manager app, create aspects and variables

  1. Click on the Aspects tab Aspects are data modeling mechanisms for assets. Aspect groups are used to bring related data points together.

  2. Click on Create aspect Every aspect has a name and a specific Type ID

  3. Enter the data for the new aspect Add a description and choose a category. Dynamic for time-series data and Static for static data

  4. Click on Add variable, to add a variable An aspect can consist of several variables of different data types Name, Data Type, Unit and Max length are defined

  5. Save your creation Once an aspect has been created, it can be used for multiple assets

Create a new asset by selecting a type with aspects and variables

If you use a MindConnect Element you have to proceed with the data mapping. Data mapping matches variables of an aspect with the respective data points of a data source.

  1. On the Assets Tab select Create asset An asset is a digital representation of a machine or an automation system with one or multiple automation units

  2. Select Type Select predefined types or if needed, define a new asset type and click Create

  3. Enter a name, description and the data for the asset Location (time zone), Variables and Aspects

  4. Save the asset you have just created

Create a new asset type with the previous created aspects and variables

  1. Click Create type A type is a pre-configured template for an asset

  2. Enter the type ID, name and description Open the Image bar to add an image

  3. Open the Variables bar to add variables Enter the variable data

  4. Open the Aspects bar to add aspects Browse all available aspects

  5. Enter a name for the new type aspect and choose an aspect from the dropdown menu

  6. Create a new Asset by selecting the type with aspects and variables

Share assets with other tenants using Cross-Tenancy

Create a Collaboration

  1. Go to the Launchpad and find the Settings icon

  2. Click on the Collaborations tab

  3. Select Offer Collaboration

To start a new offer

  • Enter the partner's Tenant Name
  • To accept the legal notice, mark the checkbox
  • To start the request, click Offer Find more information in the Settings documentation

On the Launchpad go to the Asset Manager app:

  1. In the Asset tab, select the asset you want to share

  2. Click on the 3 dots on the right to open the advanced operating tools

  3. Select Share asset

  4. Choose the receiving tenant and check the access level
  5. Click share to confirm and share your asset

**3.**Go to the Sharings tab For an overview of the assets you shared with other tenants and the assets that have been shared with you

Direct access to Visual Flow Creator and Insights Hub Monitor

On the Asset Manager app:

  1. Search assets that are already onboarded

  2. Look for Active and Deactivated flows on the Visual Flow Creator using the Others tab at the bottom of the screen

  3. Click on Open Visual Flow Creator tab to visualize the flow directly in the Visual Flow Creator app

  4. In the top right, click on the 3 dots icon to open the Insights Hub Monitor app

Insights Hub Monitor

Monitor the status of your assets using different views

In Insights Hub Monitor navigate to Explore / Assets, choose assets to be displayed

On map view

  1. Switch to Show assets on map view

  2. Select Sort to visualize Assets with active or historical error state first

  3. Select specific filters to Asset Health As Error, Information, OK and Warning

  4. Only assets with selected filters will be displayed on the map

A custom map

  1. Switch to Custom map

  2. Upload a picture of the facility

  3. Configure the position of the asset on the picture

  4. Apply changes to save
